This morning I received a fun email from Mattress Online all about getting the kids to be creative and come up with their version of a monster and create it in order to win some cool prizes of their choice.
The competition is all about getting kids to use their imagination; whether their monster is funny, friendly or scary Mattress Online want you to bring it to life whether it is through a drawing, a model or a painting.
The monsters can be drawn or created using any materials, and can be any size, shape or colour. Don’t forget to name your monster, explain who they are and what they do.
You must be aged 10 or under, and the competition is open to entries from the UK only. The competition is open from 12am 16th August and closes at midnight on Sunday 16th September 2014.
Full terms and conditions can be viewed online and whilst we had a quiet day down at our holiday cottage in Devon we decided to get out our pens and get creative. Addi has really got into her drawing in the last few months and it has been great watching her get more confident and creative.
She got straight into this challenge with glee, drawing out her monster, thinking about his special characteristics and putting her own unique touches into the drawing that make it so her.
So without further ado meet ‘Chompers’!
Chomper is a naughty and slightly cheeky monster. He lives under your bed and loves to eat your toes! If you try to sneak out of bed after lights out then he’ll nibble your toes to remind you that you’re supposed to stay in bed until morning…maybe he’s been put there by a rather craft mum and dad!
I love the pirate crow on Chompers’ shoulder which Addison says cries out if he sees your toes creeping out onto the floor and apparently the snakes on his head are for tickling the soles of your feet to make you get back into bed!
I know Addi would be made up if she won any of the prizes on offer;
- 1st Prize – £100 worth monster prize
- 2nd Prize – £50 worth monster goody bag
- 3rd prize – £25 worth monster party bag
And if you fancy having a go pop along to the Mattress Online website to find out you can get involved.
