Everyone is very excited in our house this week. Why, because on Friday afternoon we are heading off for a little mini-break down to Southampton to visit Peppa Pig World on the Saturday.
I’ve been wanting to take Addison here since it opened this year, and all the mummy bloggers had been raving on twitter about how good it was, how child friendly etc etc and this was confounded when I read an article in the I paper saying that Peppa Pig World was the top attraction for small kids for 2011 (in fact looking at the Official Peppa Pig World website they’ve received a host of accolades for the park).
The one thing that had been putting me off was the prices and the distance. With us being in Birmingham it was going to be a full weekend away to get there and back without it turning into a tantrum fest for Addison and a stress-fest for me and dad. The cost of tickets, coupled with a hotel over the weekend and then food and diesel would have cost nearly £300. Not really a figure that many families have sitting spare each month. So when Donna from Mummybird.com ran a competition to win tickets to Peppa Pig World I was there like a shot to enter.
There were loads of entries and I didn’t think I would win but when Donna’s email arrived telling me I had won I was super excited as I knew Addison would be over the moon. A quick flick to Laterooms has bagged us a family room at the Holiday Inn Express with breakfast for £55 a night so that pleased budget friendly hubby!
Addison has been told we are going away but not that we are going to see Peppa Pig and her family at Peppa Pig World and I cannot wait to see her face when she comes face to face with the familiar characters she sees on screen – if it is anything like her reaction when we take her each time to Thomas Land then I will be forever in Mummybird’s debt!
What To Do First?
So my blog this week is a request from all those other parents who have been to Peppa Pig World. What are your hot tips on where to go first? What’s best to avoid at certain times? What did your kids like best and have you got any rare gems of theme-park knowledge to impart on me for items I must take and not be without on the day.
Would love to get your comments so please post below.
Thank you!

Peppa Pig world is Obviously the main draw for most visitors so it gets very busy very quickly! If you can I would advise getting in early to avoid the queues. It’s busiest between 10 and 3 and so explore the rest of the park then. There are plenty of other rides for the whole family to enjoy, plus animals to see and even a dinosaur walk!!
We found PPW quietest from 4pm and we actually did all the rides twice between 4 and 5.30.
It might be worth taking a change of clothes and a towel too as there is a water play area although not sure if it will be working now the weather has changed.
Hope you have Lots of fun!! X
I cannot begin to tell you how brilliant Peppa Pig world is! My three just loved it, and all the rides are accessible for little one, I think only one has a height restriction. Are you travelling far? We managed to get a travel lodge for £19 near by which was great as it is a long day! Here is my write up! http://multiplemummy.com/blog/peppa-pig-world-our-amazing-day/ xx
