There’s been a fair bit in the blogging community in the last week about awards, stats and being recognised for what you do. Some people agree with it and love the whole award thing and others seem to be of the opinion that it’s a way for the elitist bloggers to be singled out and rewarded and others forgotten. I am not particularly in either category, I don’t mind awards I just don’t have the time to fill out endless entry forms and am actually not very good at blowing my own trumpet.
So when I received an email informing me that I had been shortlisted as one of the top 25 European mommy bloggers with Circle of Moms I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I knew of Circle of Moms as I love their Pinterest boards as they are full of super cute ideas. So I decided to join in, and in my sidebar on the home page you can see a shiny Vote for Me badge which allows my fans, friends and anyone who enjoys reading the content of my blog to vote for me in the category of Top 25 European Mommy bloggers.
The whole idea behind the awards is to simply pay homage to any blogger who is a mum and who loves to write. Ultimately I blog because I love to offload my thoughts somewhere and for me it’s just like a diary that I open to the world. I find it cathartic to share my fears and challenges and I love the other mum’s I have met through my blog. The final list will be published and promoted on Circle of Moms as well as through their social media channels. It is also a great opportunity to reach a new audience of around six million mums and hopefully become a contributor on their editorial side.
So, if you have a spare 2 minutes I would love it if you could click the button on this post or on my home page to vote for me – it would mean a lot as my blog as it is for many of us is a labour of love and there’s no greater testament to being good at something than being recognised by your peers for it. Equally, if any of my other friends are nominated please share me your links so I can return the favour.
Thank you x
