My name is Charlotte Everiss and welcome to my blog, that’s been going for over 5 years now and is my space to write about the tales of me raising my (now not so little) superhero sidekick in training to take on the world with me. Like most mum’s I am still trying to work out how to do this parenting thing whilst juggling an endless to do list in a day where hours fly by quicker than hamsters on roller skates.
When I am not blogging, reviewing or writing content for agencies I work part-time managing other companies social media accounts and can usually be found attached to my iPhone for long periods of the day. My day is chaotic, never organised and often everything done on the fly which tends to lead to my somewhat crazy but fun parenting style. That’s not that I don’t have boundaries, because I do, but the one thing I’ve found in five years of being a mum is that for me anyway the wing it and see approach with a bit of a firm hand works.
I have been blogging for over 10 years so that makes me somewhat of a blogging geriatric in the world of parenting bloggers. I certainly never set out to fall into the term ‘mummy blogging’ but that’s where I ended up and I am certainly not a ‘perfect’ parent – I will certainly shout loud when I fail and hold my hands up when it goes tits up. That’s predominantly why I write though to dispel the myth of the ‘perfect mother superior’ that the media feeds so many mum’s on a daily basis.
As I have grown so has my blog and you will generally find me writing about negotiating the trials, the highs and the lows that being a new single mum brings and learning the ropes of juggling life as just the two of us now. I also write about the little bits of luxury I love in my life because I believe that just because I am a mum it doesn’t mean I should give up the things I love and that make me happy.
As a working mum, it’s a daily challenge to make sure we all end up where we’re supposed to be and at the right time and trying to build a new life for us both. I’ve put a lot of my time and love when I am not in ‘mum mode’ into running my blog and turning it into my creative outlet and on a daily basis babble away on here to anyone who will listen.
So apart from social media and things geeky you’ll find that I have a love of tea and cake and pretty vintage things, in fact tea and cake are the two things that get me through the day and I am always up for a gossip and a chat so I invite you to connect with me on twitter, facebook, Google+, Pinterest and Instagram.
WHAT’S THE MUMMY BLOGGER ALL ABOUT?
I write about amazement I get from watching Roo growing up and becoming the little lady she is, the clothes I’d love to own the things that are on my never ending ‘wish list’ and anything I see that I like on my travels. Somewhere in between this I am trying to find that elusive balance of motherhood and domesticity. My blog is a personal and often frank account of life. I am not affiliated with or sponsored by any brand, client or employer. Where I do work with a brand on a particular post I will state it in my articles in a disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
My background is social media, so if you are another blogger or small business that likes my blog and needs a hand then I would love to help you. I often work with other business owners on a skills exchange basis and am happy to hear if you’ve got something in mind. For more information on working with me check out my Hire Me page.
