My name is Charlotte Everiss and welcome to my blog, that’s been going for 5 years this year which is all about the tales of me raising my little superhero sidekick in training to take on the world with me. Like most mum’s I am still trying to work out how to do this parenting thing whilst juggling an endless to do list in a day where hours fly by quicker than hamsters on rollerskates.
I am a multi-tasking mum (often unsuccessfully) who loves to blog and write about being a mum and the chaotic lifestyle you lead when you make that decision to become a parent and in my case a stay at home. I have been blogging for over 10 years now so that makes me pretty much a dab hand at this and having decided to give up my career as a freelance social media consultant nearly three years ago now my blog is now my creative outlet for all things parenting & home related. I am certainly not a ‘perfect’ parent – I distinctly fall into the ‘wing it and see’ category I will certainly shout loud when I fail and hold my hands up when it goes tits up. That’s predominantly why I write though to dispel the myth of the ‘perfect mother superior’ that the media feeds so many mum’s on a daily basis.
When I am not blogging, tweeting or putting photos on Instagram you can usually find me being the best mum I can be to my gorgeous daughter Addison (well I may be a tad biased but I’m allowed to be) who is now four years old. I am also a VW widow as my other half is slightly obsessed with cars and there always seems to be a project on our drive in bits and pieces.
As a full time working mum, working a social media consultant from home for Nutz Headphones, it’s a daily challenge to keep my house looking respectable enough for emergency visitors, managing the ever growing demands of a four year old and playing wife. I’ve put all my time and love when I am not in ‘mum mode’ into running my blog and turning it into my creative outlet and on a daily basis babble away on here to anyone who will listen.
I love tea and cake and pretty vintage things, in fact tea and cake are the two things that get me through the day and I am always up for a gossip and a chat so I invite you to connect with me on twitter, facebook, Google+, Pinterest and Instagram.
My blog is honest, I hope funny and a real portrayal of the dilemma’s I think we all face as mum’s in trying to bring up our kids to the best of our ability. Obviously some of the names on my blog might get changed so as not to cause offence.
So who will you find on the blog?
- Chris blog persona Daddy E, a digital marketing manager for a large media agency in Derby
- Addison blog persona Little Roo, three and a half, starting school in September
- Bella blog persona Bella Little Witch, our two year old rescue cat
- Bertie blog persona Bertie Moon face, our newly adopted rescue kitten
WHAT’S THE MUMMY BLOGGER ALL ABOUT?
I write about babies becoming toddlers and the amazement I get from watching Roo growing up and becoming the little lady she is. Somewhere in between this I am trying to find that elusive balance of motherhood and domesticity. My blog features a combination of tales, tips, reviews, competitions and moans and soap box rants. It is a totally personal and often frank account of life. I am not affiliated with or sponsored by any brand, client or employer. Where I do work with a brand on a particular post I will state it in my articles in a disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
My background is social media, so if you are another mummy blogger or small business that likes my blog and needs a hand setting up a website, WordPress blog, designing banners, creating facebook pages or twitter profiles then I would love to help you. I often work with other business owners on a skills exchange basis and am happy to hear if you’ve got something in mind. For more information on working with me check out my Hire Me page.
