Shout about being a good parent

405

What is being a good parent?  How do we know if the things every day we teach our kids are the right things?  Quite simply we don’t know. I don’t think anything is as hard as being a parent, no job comes close to this.  Let’s put it into reality.  You are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Often you put up with little or no thanks, stamping feet, shouting, crying, yelling about how “you’re not my parent”, apparently you have “no idea what it’s like” and pretty often “you’re so unfair”. Naked for Kids Haircare Range Banishes Bathroom Tantrums

naked_bodycare

Roo has seriously thick hair for a three and a half year old.  She was born with a mass of dark hair and never lost any of it in those early baby months.  Now her light brown hair reaches her shoulders and it is so thick that I gave up using baby and toddler shampoos a long time ago because quite frankly half of them are pants.  In fact they’d be better of for washing dishes than actually cleaning hair. However, I was lucky enough to be given some of the Naked for Kids haircare range as part of a [...] Read more »

Kit Heath Cool Britannia Jewellery

What girl doesn’t love getting jewellery? Even though Roo is still pretty young she is already fascinated by my jewellery collection and I knew that we had a birthday coming up for a friend’s daughter who was at that difficult age between of wanting to be a teenager but still only being twelve.  So when Kit Heath were looking for reviewers for the new Kit Heath Cool Britannia Jewellery range I knew Roo would be only too happy to try on some new jewellery to match her other Kit Heath pieces. The Kit Heath Cool Britannia range is aimed at [...] Read more »

Less toddler tantrums and more smiles

Happy_Children

The last two weeks Roo has been acting up at home, pushing boundaries and generally being disruptive. It’s been annoying, fraught and not an enjoyable part of parenting often with raised voices, slamming of doors and stamping of feet – and that’s just my behaviour! Seriously though, toddlers know how to push every button going and I didn’t like this change in Roo’s behaviour one little bit, I am not a fan of toddler tantrums. I cannot put my finger on any one thing triggering it and from talking to other mum’s whose toddlers were going through the same it [...] Read more »

Every Day Entrepreneurs

avonconnects

Move over Branson, Sugar and Caan, a new report from a leading academic reveals over two thirds (68%) of female business start-ups are so-called ‘everyday entrepreneurs’. Based on research conducted with 1,000 self-employed businesswomen, the Avon ‘Everyday Entrepreneur Report’ shows these women are breaking the Branson mould and hadn’t planned to be self-employed business owners. In fact, enterprising women are supporting the UK economy by running thriving enterprises, often from home, and appear to be motivated by flexibility and a passion more than the idea of money and power, with most not even connecting with the word ‘entrepreneur’. For women [...] Read more »
