Abney and Teal Toys Review

abney-and-teal

Abney and Teal is one of mine and Roo’s favourite shows on CBeebies, it reminds me of what children’s television used to be like and takes me back to the days of Bagpuss with it’s traditional style animation and beautiful stories of friendship and adventure.  Roo and I will often sit cuddled up with a cup of tea watching it and when I saw that they were releasing Abney and Teal toys including rag dolls and giant floor jigsaws I wanted to get some for Roo. We were kindly sent an Abney and Teal rag doll and a floor puzzle [...] Read more »

Kids TV Shows – Our Top 5 Shows for Pre-Schoolers

Olly-the-Little-White-Van

We’re lucky enough to have Sky TV in the house and it never ceases to amaze me how many kids channels there are.  Some are decidedly better than others and we try to limit the number of commercial channels that Roo watches as the adverts drive me crazy with their non stop advertising – it’s bad enough Roo has started singing along to the confused.com car insurance advert. I like programmes that are educational and fun, that contain realistic stories that relate to real situations and that kids can link to their own world.  I cannot stand made up kids [...] Read more »

Justin Fletcher Hands Up CD

Justin-Fletcher-2D

Addison loves cBeebies and in particular Mr Tumble and Something Special. Even when she was little these two shows would capture her imagination and from a parent’s point of view they are great as there are lots of interactive moments that kids can join in with and familiar stories and songs. The star of the show is the awesome Justin Fletcher. Addison loves it when he dresses up as the different characters and there is always shouts of laughter when he does his clowning around as Mr Tumble. My Sky+ box was getting pretty full of episodes and Addison has [...] Read more »
