To be honest when I think of holiday time I always think of Easter holidays or the big summer holiday break, where as parents we get ourselves all worked up as to how we will get through the next 6 weeks and will our sanity remain intact.
We’ve always holidayed in the summer, it just seems the most natural time to go away. Last year we rented a beautiful cottage hidden in the Brecon Beacons in Wales right in the middle of nowhere. With a huge kitchen complete with range cooker, gardens for Roo to run her legs off and a treehouse for playtime adventures it was a perfect holiday getaway and some fantastic memories were had.
Doing simple days out like heading to the dinosaur caving museum and bumping into Nina and the Neurons has to have been one of the highlights of the holiday, I don’t know who was more excited me or Roo to see her!
But there seems to be a new trend in holidays – winter holidays and in particular going away for Christmas. This year so many of my online blogging buddies headed off to places for Christmas, whether it was here in the UK or like me the sunny shores of California as long as we were with family it didn’t matter and to be honest having some sunshine when it was raining cats and dogs here was pretty good.
With that in mind I’m rather liking a new Facebook app from Cosmos Holidays called ‘Should I Snow Or Should I Go’ (now all sing together the famous song by The Clash). The App determines whether you are someone that prefers to stay in the UK during the winter or whether you would rather go somewhere with a warmer climate – and everyone who takes the App quiz gets automatically entered into a prize draw to win either a snow or beach holiday, and I don;t know about you but a bit of sunny beach time is looking mighty appealing right about now. You can check out the ‘Should I snow or Should I Go’ Facebook app here.
