Let’s face it us mummy’s constantly worry about how we look and there’s a lot of pressure on mum’s today to lose the baby weight and keep in shape especially from the media and celebrity culture we’ve become obsessed with. I know all to well how that feels as I put on nearly 3 stone when I was pregnant with Roo and have struggled to shift it despite diet after diet, some lame attempts at exercise and changing my eating habits.
So when on the run up to Cybher 2012 I got an email from Sandra Roycroft-Davies of Thinking Slimmer that she was looking for some bloggers who were attending Cybher to become ambassadors for her slimpods whilst also getting to try out the new Jenni Falconer exercise gear from Debenhams quite frankly I leapt at the opportunity. I didn’t hold out much hope as I knew there would be a lot of people wanting to do this as Sandar’s ‘slimpods’ are well known for helping people to lose weight permanently without dieting, calorie counting, shakes, pills or supplements.
So when I got an email to say I’d been chosen I was just a tad excited and eager to get started. Thank you Sandra!
After meeting Sandra at Cybher with my lovely blogging buddy and fellow ‘slimpodder’ @ChelseaMamma and collecting our bags of gorgeous Jenni Falconer exercise wear I came home to look at which slimpods I wanted to download. We were allowed to chose a slimpod and a fitpod and if you look at the Thinking Slimmer website there are a great range of slimpods to choose from.
So whether you are a new mum wanting to shift the baby bulge, a couch potato who wants to discover their va va voom again, a chocaholic who wants to kick it from the cupboards or looking to get that great bikini body for the summer there is pretty much something for every walk of life and eventuality.
I prompted for the ‘Make Fitness Fun & Easy‘ slimpod which is great for all ages and both men and women and in just 10 minutes a day using hypnotherapy via an audio cast retunes your mind to give you the motivation to get exercising and enjoying it at the same time. To go with that an in preparation for our Florida vacation I also got the slimpod ‘Creating That Summer Beach Body‘ which is designed to work in conjunction with the fitpod I bought and is about giving me the confidence to wear my bikini this summer with my new fabulous body!
Now to give myself an additional helping hand I have also downloaded the Couch to 5K running app to make sure that the exercise programme I am going to follow is properly done and I don’t bust a gut or do myself a serious injury whilst exercising. After getting a decent pair of running trainers to go with my Jenni Falconer leggings and top I have been hitting the streets on my quest to reach 5k.
So far I’ve been running three times a week a mix of fast walking and running for 30 minutes. Before I go out I listen to my fitpod and in the morning on the way to work I’ve been listening to my slimpod. This is now week 2 for me and I’ve already dropped a dress size from an 18 to a 16.
My eating habits have changed, more salads, less carbs, more fruit, less fizzy drinks, more water. I feel really good. I love my Jenni Falconer gear. I was lucky to be given the XPG Jenni Falconer black ‘run’ sports tights for this trial which feature a soft, breathable fabric with mesh panels, a secure zip pocket ideal for keys or music player, a gel pocket in the waistband and a reflective print for added visibility. At a size 16 they fit nicely and don’t fall down when running. To go with this I got the XPG Jenni Falconer purple perforated panel t-shirt, this stretch feel fitness t-shirt from XPG features a lightweight design and a perforated back panel to keep you cool. It has a V-neck and short sleeves and a longer length design. For me this longer design is great because it covers my tummy over the trousers, doesn’t ride up when running and it feels nice and cool when I have warmed up thanks to the perforated panel.
Tonight is a night off on the running for me – tomorrow I will be back out there going for 30 minutes again. I hope to be able to take a gallery over the next few weeks over my changing body shape & would love to connect with the other bloggers involved in this Thinking Slimmer BlogFit Challenge so if you are out there and doing a slimpod or fitpod then contact me through the blog and let’s keep in touch and motivate each other!
In order to be honest and transparent I have put my starting measurements below. Please note I work on measuring myself rather than scales as I hate being on the scales and do not own a pair.
Week One Measurements
Chest – 40 inches
Waist – 35 inches
Hips – 43 inches

Way to go that’s great news. x
