Practical Sunny Weather Clothing Ideas for Kids

Although the weather is slightly up and down of late, the sunshine seems to be breaking its way through and will hopefully be here to stay quite soon! Deciding upon outfit choices for kiddos can be a tough choice when the sunnier weather rears its head, especially in England where the weather can be so temperamental (rain, shine, rain, shine – please make your mind up soon!) Luckily, there are so many gorgeous companies and brands who create stunning clothing ranges for little ones – I often get severe clothes envy when I look in Addison’s amazing wardrobe! If you’re in search of some practical ideas for sunny-weather clothing or simply looking to update their current wardrobe before summer, here is just a little inspiration for both boys and girls to help you decide.

Petit Bateau

This super sweet brand combines stylish French apparel with high quality materials to create clothing to die for (and yes, they do adult sizes too!) If you’re in search of great quality basics or something practical but dressy for the warmer evenings then Petit Bateau are just perfect – think Breton stripes and comfy cotton which washes well and keeps its shape, making it perfect for active kiddos.

For him, there are gorgeous cotton tops, striped chinos and an array of swimming trunks in vibrant colours, whilst for girls there are pretty summer dresses and striped t-shirts that can be easily mixed and matched with skirts and shorts too. Their must-have piece is the iconic yellow raincoat which is unisex, and is nice and light making it perfect for those unexpected showers!

For practical footwear for both boys and girls, then Converse sneakers tick all the boxes. This popular footwear brand is hardwearing, super comfy and come in range of attractive colours and styles, meaning there’s bound to be something to suit the lively personality of your little one. These shoes are great for the warmer weather as they can be styled with many clothing options and they’re breathable which means their little feet won’t over heat.

I bought Addy a pair of Converse about 18 months ago and she’s absolutely thrashed them to death and I have just invested in another pair and may have a go at customising them with some crystals on the front.

Florence & Fred Tesco

So many supermarkets have sweet and chic clothing offerings these days, and one which consistently stands out for children is the Florence & Fred at Tesco. I have chosen F&F as they offer a fantastic range of accessories that can are stylish and practical for the sunny weather for your child. Bags are a must as they give your kids a sense of responsibility for their own belongings, and can be used to store those essentials bits and pieces you just can’t afford to leave the house without (lunch, raincoat, books etc.) Sunglasses and hats are important too as they help to protect their precious skin and eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. Tesco are perfect for these little extras as they often feature popular cartoon characters, something which can encourage them to wear them too!

Do you have any kids clothing brands that you love to buy and that you think offer great value for money?
