Meal Planning Monday

In a continuing effort to keep the weekly cost of shopping at a sensible level, manage my stress levels of an evening once Roo is in bed and eat at a sensible hour the last two weeks I’ve been doing meal planning Monday.  This is something I had seen loads of other mummy bloggers doing and thought that it was a good idea but never actually implemented it as I had no idea where to start with recipes or remembering what I was supposed to be cooking when.

Thankfully, last week I solved both these problems when I stumbled across GourmetMum.tv and her brilliant website full of quick, yummy meals and even a budgeting meals section.  Her site is full of great things to cook and I rustled up four recipes from there last week that were demolished by big and small mouths in the house with Daddy E and Roo declaring the sweet and sour chicken to be ‘scrumptious’.  How to track what I was cooking is now taken care of thanks to my personalised family chalkboard sticker from TinyMe.co.uk

This wall art chalkboard graphic has our family name across the top of it and the days of the week so that I can write down on each day what we are having as well as a reminder for any last minute ingredients that the store cupboard might be empty off so that Daddy E can pick them up on his way home.

So this week’s meal planning Monday menu looks like this:-

So if any other mummy bloggers are also doing meal planning Monday I’d love to hear your recipes so feel free to link them up on this post and hopefully we can inspire each other with new recipes that are quick and easy for us all in the kitchen.

Not a mummy, but I am a meal planner. The healthy chicken tikka masala does sound very good.
