It’s been a month now since the builders left our house, the dust settled and finally we began moving things back into the house and sorting out the new extension. It has made such a difference to our home and it’s gone from feeling cramped downstairs to open and airy and a much nicer house to be in. We’ve bought some new furnishings for it and the colour scheme is teal, chocolate and cream and finally last week managed to find some made to measure blinds that would fit across our bi-fold doors from Blinds 2go™.
Due to the size of the bifold doors curtains were working out seriously expensive and so many of the designs just didn’t suit my taste. Then we had the whole debate of how often would we draw the curtains and wouldn’t it just be easier to have blinds up at the windows as we do in the kitchen and upstairs landing. So we hopped onto the internet and got searching. A quick search revealed the Blinds 2go website and both Daddy E and I were impressed with their range of styles and designs and the prices of their made to measure range were superb.
Their website was easy to use and I liked the fact that they’d been trading for over 12 years and had a solid customer base and good reviews online from previous customers. The delivery information and their terms and conditions was comprehensive and their fitting guide made it really simple in making sure we measured up correctly, as the last thing we wanted was blinds that were too short! We wanted something that looked nice and that would also insulate the room as it’s pretty big and could get cold at night.
After looking through the range of roller blinds, roman blinds and venetian blinds we opted to go for some Duoshade thermal blinds which are pleated blind with a special honeycomb design to create a thermal barrier at the window. The Duoshade blind is clever and works across the seasons, in the summer it will keep rooms cool while in the winter it will help keep rooms warm. The colours were a neutral palette and we opted for the alablaster colour to match in with the walls in the extension and not clash with existing furnishings. We loved the fact with these blinds that using them could help us to save up to £200 on our heating bills, and let’s face it with the rise in utility prices always in the news this is an attractive feature for any family looking to save a few pennies.
The website had everything we needed to ensure we ordered the right size and delivery was only going to take 7 – 10 days which was much quicker than curtains, as some companies had quoted us up to three weeks. It’s only a few days now until the order is due to arrive and I can’t wait to get them up at the windows. I’m not sure Daddy E is looking forward to doing some DIY so I might have to sweeten the request with some cake!
So far we’ve been really impressed with the whole order process from Blinds 2go and they even have a freephone telephone number in case of product queries on any of the made to measure blinds before or after purchasing and have been featured in numerous publications such as House Beautiful and Ideal Homes. Their products come with a three year guarantee and you can even order free samples from their website. This is the last piece in our little grand designs style make over and for us it’s created the family space we needed and has been much cheaper than contemplating moving house.
