Back to School Savings from MyVoucherCodes

Honestly, I am fine about Roo starting school, not nervous at all, not thinking about will she or won’t she get upset on that first day I take her into the playground.  Honestly I really am.  Ok, I am not kidding anyone – I am really nervous about this big transition in her little life and it has become even more surreal as we’ve started school uniform shopping.

This has bought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye and that’s not just because of the price of some of the items.  I still get shocked at the price of kids school shoes being equivalent to the price of a pair of my shoes yet they are so much smaller and don’t last as long.  Thankfully with sites like MyVoucherCodes I’ve been able to take advantage of some back to school savings and even treat myself to a little something as a reward.

I use MyVoucherCodes pretty much every time I shop online as I like to check for any money off vouchers, discounts or free delivery options and the site works with some of the biggest names on the high street so you’re bound to find the retailer you are looking for.  If you’re trying to save a few pennies in the family kitty this is a site worth bookmarking and you can sign up to receive email alerts of new vouchers for your favourite retailers.

For school uniform I had been impressed with the range in Marks and Spencers so I logged on to MyVoucherCodes to see what deals for Marks and Spencers were available.  For another two days you can get 25% off kids clothing at Marks and Spencer so I stocked up on new pants, tights and socks for Roo at a great price and also used their free delivery code voucher (valid for another three days) to get free delivery on these items and a new pleated pinafore for Roo.  Great as that meant that mum could pick the items up for me as she lives a stones throw from our local Marks and Spencer so not only have I saved petrol but I saved £9.50 on her socks and pants and the standard delivery charge.

With the money I saved on Roo’s school uniform I decided to treat myself to a new top.  Boden is one of my favourite clothing stores.  I love the vibrant boho chic of their clothing and it fits and washes brilliantly.  I always try to get a bargain in their sales and I know that MyVoucherCodes regularly has vouchers and money saving deals for Boden clothing.  So a quick search revealed a 20% off selected autumn styles plus free delivery and returns at Boden.  I had already seen a lovely printed top which was now reduced to £47, so with another 20% off I saved £9.40 and I got free delivery (usually £4.00) and free returns.

All in all this was a pretty good 30 minute online shopping trip and you can even check out deals on the go thanks to the MyVoucherCodes app so when out and about in the high street you can check prices on the go saving you even more money!  So us mum’s might get a little treat now and again thanks to some frugal research before opening our wallets.  To make it really easy there is even a whole section of the website dedicated to back to school discounts and savings.
