Outdoor Entertaining Whatever the Weather

home improvements

uk mummy bloggerIt seems bizarre that this weekend we had temperatures of –5 and 8 inches of snow and yet this time last year we were basking in 20 degrees and radiant sunshine.  One things for certain and that is you can never predict the British weather, but I am determined this year that the weather will not put pay to our outdoor fun at home.

After all we’re about to have our garden made over as part of the house renovation plans and the biggest headache for us is how to make sure we actually use the new garden, patio furniture and BBQ we buy this year rather than it gathering dust in the shed. home improvements

Thankfully we have found the answer online after looking at the Nationwide Home Innovations website and getting the idea of having an outdoor veranda put up at the rear of the house over our new patio area.  For us this is ideal as these contemporary verandas like these provide not only shelter from the elements on a rainy day but also provide a really intimate space for parties and entertaining.

I love the modern look of them with their aluminium beams that are powder coated which is perfect as we can match them in with our aluminium bi-fold doors that we put in the extension and the idea of being able to open these doors and step straight out into a huge protected patio area makes the perfect entertaining space.

By using our giant patio heaters we can create a windproof and comfortable seating area and the company even offer fitting along with a five year guarantee and a free design consultation.  We decided to make sure that Miss Roo doesn’t go flying over the patio to put in some outdoor lighting around the patio area and this will also give it a really homely and relaxed feel in the early evening as we’ve bought some giant outdoor rugs and some big beanbags too for those lazy summer evenings.

So whatever the weather, Daddy will be able to brush up on his ‘man skills’ on the BBQ and I can relax with a book whilst we enjoy our new outdoor garden
