New York Soup Co. Soup Review

It’s been so cold for what seems an eternity.  Every day has bought miserable weather of snow, rain and so many grey skies.  It’s been thoroughly dismal and often the thought of a limp sandwich or cold salad for lunch quite frankly hasn’t been cutting in.  So when I was asked if I wanted to try some new soups from the New York Soup Co. I was delighted to have something warm and exciting to chow down on when Miss Roo had been dropped at school.

The skinny soup range has only 123 calories per serving and features exciting and contemporary flavours such as Route 66 Red Pepper, New England Butternut Squash and Chunky Chicken Minestrone.  Each of the soups are made from scratch using only best quality ingredients. There are no hidden additives, no nasties, just loads of fresh, zingy flavours.

I was sent the Fully Loaded Soups to try and the choice of flavours caused some serious arguments between me and Daddy E over who was going to choose first.  The flavours were Tomato & Meatball, Nacho Chilli Chicken, BBQ Pulled Pork and Bean and Chunky Lentil and Bean.

I can honestly say that these soups are delicious.  They’re quick to cook on the hob and smell gorgeous as they’re warming through.  My  kitchen was filled with the aroma of tomatoes and chilli and the soups were thick and packed full of vegetables.  I couldn’t wait to dive in and in just a few mouthfuls I was overwhelmed by the different tastes and combinations of herbs and spices.  The soup was good, really good.  It’s filling too.  I made myself half a bowl of the Tomato & Meatball and was absolutely filled to the brim and left with a lovely warm feeling in my tummy.

I made it through the afternoon and usual 3pm slump without picking and reaching for snacks or naughty biscuits and the soups were devoured by the entire family in under a week they were that good.  Miss Roo’s favourite was the Chunky Lentil and Bean and Daddy E loved the fiery Nacho Chilli Chicken.

All of the soups from the New York Soup Co can be bought online through their website and they have all the nutritional information on site too so you can see what you’re eating and keep an eye on the calories if you’re watching your waistline – which let’s face it us mum’s nearly always are.  The soup is currently only sold at Tesco where it’s currently on a 3 for 2 deal, and don’t forget you can freeze fresh soup to take advantage of an offer as long as you defrost and eat it within around 3 months.
