Sorry in advance to Android or Windows smartphone users but I am am Apple junkie and so this post is purely based on my favourite photography apps for iPhones. Why am I posting this now? Well next weekend I will be heading off to the largest parenting blogging conference (courtesy of my sponsor Dribblebuster who make the most gorgeous dribble bibs) Britmums Live in London.
This means that several hundred mum’s and dad’s well be glued to iPads and iPhones snapping pictures and making memories. So in order for you to get the most out of your iPhone and snap some brilliant shots on the day here are the photographs apps I simply couldn’t live without. I won’t mention the obvious one that is Instagram as nearly everyone uses this is. If you can get away from the pet sharing, food sharing and forced size capture it’s a great app that will always have a place on any bloggers iPhone for photograpy.
I only got Kitcam about 4 months ago but don’t know how I lived without it in my photo taking arsenal. It’s quick, lightweight and easy to use with an intuitive interface. With it, you can adjust exposure, white balance, lenses, and film before you even take the photo. It also features convenient shooting modes like a timer, multi-exposure, time-lapse, and more. You can share directly out onto social networks, email photos and turn them into postcards. You can even use it to film full HD video.
Currently at just 69p it’s a real steal and great to mess around with. Download now.
Kitcam offers nice editing options and a few tricks outside of the usual photo apps. However, for more experienced photobloggers you might want to check out Photoforge2. This is a pricier app but comes with an excellent array of controls to make your photos stand out. One of the best features is the ability to use multiple layers as well as adding masks and being able to make fairly technical adjustments such as adding in curves, colour depth and levels, white balance and noise reduction. As an extra boost it als comes with over 25 different filters and FX and combine different films lenses, filters, and textures.
Currently priced at £2.49 if you want to get serious about editing photos this is a great app to start with that won’t break the bank. Download now.
I love, love, love this collage app. Great for bloggers who take a lot of photographs for reviews and don’t want to create image heavy posts or slow loading galleries with their photo shots. This storyboard app gives you an excellent way to show off multiple photos at once. The App Store is also flooded with apps that help you build collages and storyboards, but the one I keep coming back to is Fuzel Pro. It has an artistic design, rarely crashes, is easy to use and makes it quick to add photos. You have total control over your collages and the pictures you wish to use with a variety of different layouts to cover different picture angles.
Priced at just £1.49 you will wonder what you did without it. Download now.
So you’ve taken the perfect photo, edited it to perfection and now you think you’d like to add an inspirational message or quote or even turn it into a poster. Well that’s what the Photolettering app lets you do. By using fabulous font from type foundry House Industries you can use beautiful typography to create works of arts. The best news of all is that this app is
to download with a good selection of fonts and additional fonts are available via in-app purchase. If you’re looking to mix photography with typography, Photolettering is the way to go. It supports you taking photographs direct through the app and importing via your camera roll too.
