It’s easy for us mum’s to forget about ourselves. We spend all day running round after the rest of the family, it’s rare to buy a treat for us when we’re out or take time out at home. We can find a million reasons why not to enjoy five minutes of R&R and so when I was sent the Manuka Doctor Regenerating Face Mask containing bee venom I was really intrigued to find out more about this wonder product in a box.
Retailing at £49.99 the Manuka Doctor face mask is a deep penetrating skin renewal treatment containing a unique combination of Purified Bee Venom, moisturising UMF 18+ Manuka Honey, Avocado Oil and Vitamin E. This unique formulation deeply nourishes the skin, stimulating collagen growth and renewing damaged skin cells, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Whilst the thought of using bee venom on your face might sound a bit strange a bit of research on the web revealed that bee venom is a beauty ingredient loved and used by the likes of Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham and Kylie Minogue
So I locked myself away in the bathroom and opened the sleek, shiny box and opened the tub of cream. It isn’t overly perfumed which was good for me as I find face masksreally sickly when they are overpowering and the consistency was like a deep nourishing night time moisturiser. It was velvety to apply and it took probably two or three minutes to apply a good covering to my face and neck.
Then I locked the door and indulged in a bath without being joined by Miss Roo or her bath time toy menagerie.
After 15 minutes I removed the mask quickly and easily with a warm muslin cloth; I kept these from when Roo was a baby and I’ve found they are great for removing face masks and treatments and wash really well and don’t drag or stretch the skin.
Straight away my skin felt velvety, so soft and the dry patches around my nose from the winter winds were gone and instantly less red.
My skin had lost the dull lifeless appearance and was glowing and radiant. I shouldn’t really be surprised because the bee venom helps to boost collagen formation and cell regeneration and is super effective at reviving damaged skin, as well as fighting fine lines and wrinkles, it can help to reduce the appearance of scars.
This is now the most loved product on my bathroom shelf and is like a coveted item. It is my treat every two weeks on a Friday night to take 30 minutes for myself and refresh my skin ready for the week ahead – something that is really important in these winter months.
