The weather has been absolutely beautiful this last week, albeit most of us have been stuck in the office so only managed to enjoy it over our lunch hours, but coming home after work and being able to sit outside in my garden and plant up some summer bulbs has been a lovely end to the day.
I am not a ‘green fingered’ person and gardening isn’t something I love to do but since moving into my house two years ago I have slowly begun to transform a wild overgrown and unloved garden into a place that is enjoyable to sit. I’ve planted a lot of wildflowers and this year they’ve really blossomed and in particular my purple irises have doubled this year and they are such a beautiful bright colour in amongst a sea of greenery.
To enjoy my new garden the lovely folks at the online gift store Qwerkity sent me a beautiful William Morris Tool Tidy. I love William Morris prints, they are so colourful & quintessentially English and the cotton canvas bag which features 4 handy pockets is perfect for putting gardening tools, seed packets, gloves etc in whilst tending to my borders.
The garden tool tidy bag is a deep petrol blue and features sturdy faux leather handles which are lovely and soft. The fact that the bag is lined is a bonus as it makes it easy to keep clean and shake out the soil at the end of the day. A big bonus for me with this is that I had somewhere to keep my garden essentials in that the dog wouldn’t keep running off with them!
To accompany the bag I was sent a really cute heart shaped trowel which is made by Kent & Stowe. The ash wood handle and carbon steel trowel head make it easy to hold, lightweight and very adept at breaking through the earth to dig in bulbs. The trowel also comes with a 10 year guarantee.
Both of these items would make wonderful gifts for any gardener, whether a novice like me or a regular in the garden. They are excellently made and well priced which is great if you have kids looking for gifts for mums and dads that are affordable.
