My life is about to take on a whole new level of busy as I embark on a new job, working full time and with longer hours. Addi will be doing more after school clubs and there is about to become the quest to fit more stuff in the day in an even shorter time frame. With the winter ahead it’s the perfect time of year for my body to attract as the perfect ‘vessel’ for all the germs and lurgi that we tend to pick up when we get run down. It’s easy to forget to take care of ourselves and focus on everyone else but as a single mum working full time it’s vital I am at the top of my game mentally and physically. Thankfully for the six weeks I’ve been given a bit of a helping hand with the range of specifically tailored Daily 4 Me vitamins and supplements.
Daily 4 Me is a fabulous concept of monthly vitamin and vitality supplement boxes, designed for women, with a specific supplement for everything from skin and hair to the Big “50”. You name a problem that affects women and there is a supplement to help it. The range is the brain child of Nikki Cooper who developed the range after a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Instead of simply relying on conventional medicine to treat the disease, she helped herself through researching alternative methods of keeping the disease and its symptoms under control. Her regime of supplements left her not only with lowered levels of fatigue but improved hair and skin and so the idea for Inner Me was born.
Nikki’s wonderful PR team contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of the ‘vitamin box’ ranges over a six week period and based on my lifestyle they selected the Daily 4 Me – The Hectic years’. There are three Inner Me Daily 4 Me packs and each one is tailored for the three stages of a woman’s life: Teens and Twenties, Thirties and Forties and Fifties and Sixties and then a box for improving your hair and skin condition. Each box is aimed at providing an advanced, convenient and and all-in-one solution to a balanced, healthy lifestyle. To be honest I’m up for anything that keeps me looking good so agreed and with my life busier than ever was keen to see if I would feel any better over the six week period.
Having felt sluggish, tired and under the weather for the last six weeks the supplements certainly couldn’t make me any worse and it was probably the perfect time to try them out. The vitamins are beautifully packaged. Sleek, crisp design, very feminine and definitely aimed at women who are prepared to splurge a little on themselves and feeling good. Compared to your average bottle of daily vitamins I know which packet has more ‘shelf appeal’ to me if I was on the high street and the Daily 4 Me range would undoubtedly end up in my trolley.
So what’s in the vitamin box?
In total there are 4 tablets you need to take daily, ideally in the morning after food:-
- Tailored Multivitamin and Mineral Tablet
- High strength Omega 3 Capsule
- Co Enzyme Q10 100mg Softgel
- Lactospore 15 Billion Complex
Multivitamin & Minerals: Adequate provisions of vitamins and minerals are required for virtually all functions in the human body from immune function to muscular and circulatory function, but with today’s demanding lifestyle we often find it difficult to attain the optimum levels from our diet alone. Our Hectic Years multivitamin and mineral complex provides a range of the essential micronutrients ensuring a broad daily intake including important energy-releasing B Vitamins and a high 2500iu dose of Vitamin D3.
High Strength Omega 3 Omega: 3 fatty acids are not produced by the body, therefore, to keep healthy levels we should fortify our diets with fish. By taking supplements throughout our lifetime we can boost our nutrient intake and to ensure the best possible quality the oil in our high strength capsules has been highly distilled to remove any toxins. Each capsule packs a marvelous punch of 630mg total Omega 3, including 220mg DHA and 330mg EPA.
Co Enzyme Q10 100mg Softgel: Is a powerful antioxidant, which appears naturally within almost every cell in the body, yet its production declines with age. The highest levels of CoQ10 can be found in tissues with high-energy requirements such as the heart and skeletal muscles.
Lactospore 15 Billion Complex Capsule Our Lactospore®: Complex contains billions of bacteria per capsule, together with the soluble fibre Psylium Husk and the antioxidants Spirulina, Chlorella and Aloe Vera. This little easy-to-swallow capsule is also jam packed with extracts of Licorice Root, Ginger Root, Artichoke and Nettle Leaf together with the perennial flowering plant Alfafa and Marshmallow Root Powder. So breathe out, we’ve got the probiotics covered.
Now I am not good at taking tablets so was a little anxious about popping some of these as they’re quite large, but swallowed with a nice juice they’ve been easy and I love the fact the packets come in easy to tear strips so I can pop a strip in my bag and take it out with me if I don’t get time in the morning. A month’s supply costs £21 currently (usual price £30) and at this price they are pricier than your average pack of multi vitamins but after a week I can actually feel a difference.
My skin is improving, I had been having awful lumps under my skin, not spots but stress like lumps. My upset stomach had begun to improve as my diet stabilised again and I began to cut gluten and wheat out of my diet and the probiotics in the Lactospore capsules did their magic work of keeping my tummy happy rather than grumpy. Energy levels are up and I am not getting the 3pm slump I used to get. All this positivity has lead to me beginning to sleep better and become more rested.
I do have to set my alarm to remind myself to take them every day because it appears they don’t make your memory more efficient but I have taken them every day for just over a week and am surprised at the effects on my general well being and energy levels. I do think eating a healthy balanced diet helps and they clearly work well in conjunction with my diet and exercise regime. Little added extras from the Inner Me team such as these 7 day meal planners are another great resource to help maximise the benefits of these vitamins and mineral supplements and I loved the wellbeing tips card which is on my fridge as a daily reminder of how to beat the stresses and strains of modern day life.
You can view the full range of Daily 4 Me vitamins and beauty supplements direct on the Inner Me website, as well as being able to see which vitamins come in which packs the site has a wealth of lifestyle and health tips and some great health eating recipes.
Let’s see whether week 2 on the supplements continues to be successful and will I turn in to Gwyneth Paltrow?
