There’s something about bright colours that make kids bedrooms really fresh. Even when Roo was a baby we steered away from traditional colour schemes and it’s pretty much stayed the same way as she’s growing up. Her room currently has a lovely grey and white star wallpaper which pretty much allows us to put any kids bedding with it to bring some colour into the room.
When asked recently by the lovely people at Yorkshire Linen if we wanted to review some kids bedding for Roo’s room I was surprised at the amount of choice available, as usually kids bedding isn’t that exciting. The Yorkshire Linen Company was founded in 1993 and is a family run business that specialises in luxury bedding and affordable home furnishings.
The website has a lot to choose from with character design duvets, beautiful prints and bright retro stripes all on offer so pretty much any theme and taste is catered for. I asked Miss Roo what she’d like to choose from the list we got sent and she opted for the Soho Multi Stripe duvet cover which has bold rainbow stripes against a black background and looked really striking in the photograph.
Roo picked this because she loves rainbows and she called this her ‘rainbow duvet’ when she saw it. The Soho Multi Stripe duvet set offers brilliant value for money at under £20 (and currently on special at £11.99 so even better value!); coming with a duvet case and matching pillow and is made from a 50 / 50 polycotton mix.
The quality of the cotton is excellent, really soft and not starchy or scratchy to the touch and on the initial wash on a quick 30 degree cycle it came out with no marks or colour runs and very little creases so great for ironing. Ironing on a medium heat with steam was a breeze and the duvet set looked crisp and inviting when put onto Roo’s bed at nanny’s that evening for her sleepover.
The colours are vibrant and stand out against the black background and are perfect for making a statement in any child’s bedroom.
The range of kids bedding on Yorkshire Linen is fantastic and there are some beautiful pieces; my favourite has to be the Fluteryby Lilac duvet set which has some gorgeous embroidery and sequin detailing.
