There is something about flowers, the smell, the colours, they can lift your mood, brighten a room and are one of those gifts I just love to get. I love it when I get bought flowers and my favourite has to be peonies or vintage roses; both beautiful delicate flowers with a subtle fragrance that just ooze luxury.
Recently I was lucky enough to be asked with Appleyard London who are a luxury London florist, and whose bouquets feature in the likes of luxury lifestyle magazine Harper’s Bazaar. If you love flowers then you simply have to check out their collection of stunning bouquets, their luxury roses in particular are so beautifully dreamy. This is a company who are passionate about flowers and it shows. There are a variety of colours from pretty pastels to vibrant summer hues and if you are looking to send someone a very special bouquet to show how much you care this is definitely a website to stop by for flowers; with next day and timed deliveries available it makes ordering online an absolute breeze.
I chose a bouquet entitled Rose Envy, because of my love of roses but also the lure of the free chocolates (something my waistline will no doubt make me regret at some point!). This is a bouquet which contains beautiful mix of versilia roses, memory lane roses and deep red roses nestled between glossy red berries and blue veronica. The use of the berries and blue veronica brings structure to this beautiful bouquet and I was delighted when it arrived well packed and the roses tightly shut and it was great that they had been packed in water to preserve them in transit.
The pale peach and lilac of the roses was a beautiful contrast against the deep red and glossy green leaves and the smell of the bouquet was absolutely divine. I couldn’t wait to get the flowers home and put them into my lounge as the colours would go perfectly with my neutral walls and dark chocolate leather sofa.
Placed in front of my fire and with all my candles on the bouquet was a welcome addition to the lounge and over the next few days the roses began to unfurl their petals and reveal their beautiful colours and the fragrance got even stronger. Lasting a full 10 days before they started to wilt I was exceptionally impressed with the quality of the flowers and yes really the box of chocolates did remain unopened for ten days as I was trying to be REALLY good in the run up to Christmas!
The bouquets on the Appleyard London website range from the mid £20 mark up to £80 and you can add on chocolates and even ‘super size’ your bouquet should you wish. With the new year now upon us it is nice to treat yourself to something a bit special and if you use discount code BLOG40 on any of the flower ranges (except Flowers by Post) you can save 40% on the price of one of their luxury bouquets which means you can pick up some gorgeous flowers for as little as £15, what a nice new year gift to yourself or someone special.
