I love buying things for the home, whether it’s new furnishings, new items for the kitchen or even a new gadget. Since moving into my own place with Addi there’s been plenty of opportunity to go out and buy new bits and pieces and we’ve loved going off to the shops and looking for pieces to make our place feel like home. So I have to say I am a bit jealous of this fabulous competition that I am running on the blog to win £200…yes £200 of John Lewis vouchers with Everest Home Improvements.
I’d like to say I am a domestic goddess. That my house resembles something out of Country Living magazine. That floors are spotless, carpets stain free and not at all a little grubby from tiny feet treading in the daily school run dirt. I could lie but what would be the point, any fellow parent knows that creating a magazine style of living is impossible when you have small people in the house.
The picture below is definitely not how I look when cleaning nor do I ever have such a huge smile of glee on my face at the prospect of mopping up this weeks hair and dust from the floor. Until now that is!
With the wonders of technology we can keep in touch with our kids wherever they are. In this day and age, when our smartphones are more than just phones, it’s a shame not to make use of the technology at hand – or in your pocket and the app from Folr allows you to keep track of anyone with a smartphone; for instance your kids, your partner (now that’s a relationship tester!) your own parents (nothing like a bit of return snooping for all those years).
It’s a terrifying yet useful technology.
Kids are fussy and not just about the food that goes in their lunch box. Gone are the days when a white Tupperware box would do for your sandwiches. Nope now you have to have the latest character lunch box or you’ll find yourself a table outcast come lunchtime. As a parent this presents problems. Character lunch boxes are a) expensive and b) kids fads change faster than they change their socks so keeping up with what’s ‘cool’ this week can present dilemmas.
Addi has her Monster High lunch box which she loves; this is her latest craze. Her entire birthday party theme revolves around this so let’s hope that that the obsession at least lasts until October 18th! However, a few weeks ago we were sent a rather cool lunch box that will no doubt continue to be cool for a long time.
It was my birthday Friday and amongst all the lovely card and presents I received I also got a lovely email from the outreach team at Suppose.com saying I had been chosen to review one of their jewellery pieces.
If you’ve not heard of Suppose.com it’s a free website that helps you find the best deals and prices on every day high street goods and monitors the price drops for you so you don’t miss a bargain. In a world where money is getting tighter and we all seek for ways for it to go further and pick up items at great prices and the Suppose.com makes it really easy to do just that.
