Loving my local pub

realpubgrub

One of the best things about moving back to Lichfield post divorce is that my house is within a five minute walk to a pretty good pub.  This is perfect for those lazy Sunday’s when I don’t feel like cooking for Roo and I because we can head down the road and get a delicious fresh cooked Sunday roast, piled high with vegetables and steaming hot gravy for a really good price.

We love the fact that our local pub is more than just a ‘Beefeater’ or carvery, the staff are friendly and they always make an effort to ask Roo what she’d like to eat rather than asking me to order for her.  They bring her juice in a proper glass with a straw and an umbrella which she always giggles at.  Big comfy chairs and non wobbly tables and little quiet booths we can sit in and have privacy and take time with our meal are just some of the things we enjoy about going for dinner there together.

Dear PR company, please don’t take the pi$$

PRs working with bloggers

Something got me riled this week, really riled and I feel the need to rant as it’s happening more and more to many bloggers I know and the people who are doing it really should know better.

Many of the bloggers I know and class as good friends have been writing and working with brands and PRs for a while.  A lot of us have a good relationship with these brands and PRs.  We respect each other and have a mutually beneficial relationship in that as bloggers we get to review products and in return the brand or PR gets brilliant coverage via our blogs and social media channels.  We also have those companies who reach out to us and in return for payment will ask us to write about a product and this is how many of us make a living or supplement our income.

Bootea teatox the beginning of a new friendship

change-yourself.png

I am going to let you in on a little weight loss secret gem that I recently discovered and which has been a great addition to my new healthier lifestyle over the last month.

It’s not a miracle surgery, it’s not weird tablets, revolting meal replacement shakes, expensive beauty treatments or crazy diets.  All it is is a tea bag, a simple herbal tea bag from a company called Bootea.

Bootea Detox Tea

Bootea detox or ‘teatox’ as its known amongst the fans is packed full of traditional natural ingredients which help to aid weight loss and increase metabolism and general well being as part of a healthy lifestyle.  As the website says the Bootea daytime tea works to increase your metabolism, by doing so this helps your body convert food into energy to burn fat and calories whilst also suppressing your appetite.  When you’re watching the calories snacking can be a vicious little demon and this for me has been my biggest habit to curb but this has helped.

Moving house so time for a new bed….

Good-Night-Sleep-Tight

That feeling you get of climbing into bed at the end of the day is absolute bliss.  Quite honestly I love my bed and the land of nod is one of my favourite places, climbing in at the end of the day with a cup of tea and settling to read my book for a few hours is my treat time.  One thing I do miss though is my super huge king size bed since moving out of home.

I took the 4ft double bed and quite frankly it’s pretty rubbish.  It’s not big enough, trying to do a starfish in it is just about manageable, having company in the bed is a bit of a tight squeeze and even Roo struggles to snuggle in it with me for more than half an hour.
