Kids imagination in the great outdoors is endless

kids-imagination

We live in a world of technology, kids have access to tablets, phones and gadgets from a young age.  They spend more and more time with their head in their games than a book and gone are the days where you could send the kids out to play (safely) and tell them to be back by tea time.  We have less and less open space for them to play in and so many parks are full of threatening teenagers, dirty benches and unwelcoming toilets.

Thankfully though in Lichfield we have an amazing park, Beacon Park which has a fantastic play area for kids.  With a pirate ship, swings, a wooden train, rocking chickens, rocks to climb, a sand pit, plenty of benches for mums to rest their weary bottoms on and a cafe for ice cold drinks and a bribery ice cream to go home.

A luxury bedroom on a budget

vintage-suitcases

It’s official I have a date for moving into our next property, weird to think that it’s been nearly six months since I moved into where I am now and somehow survived for six months without proper broadband or proper television…taking broadband away from a blogger is like torture and not an experience I want to repeat.

So with my moving date less than three weeks away I’ve begun doing that thing of looking at new furnishings and ideas for the home online to bring a bit of my personality into my home.  Now if you read my blog you will know I like pretty, vintage style furnishings and my bedroom in particular has always been the one room I wanted to make really pretty and a place I long to relax in come the end of the week.  But is it possible to create a luxury bedroom on a budget?

Spring flowers from Suttons Seeds

spring-bouquet

I love flowers and always try to have fresh ones in the house.  I find them uplifting and a great way to brighten a dull room.  Spring flowers are one of my favourites, tulips and stocks in particular because of their colour and the heady smell they give off.  They look great in shabby chic vases and make me feel all whimsical and country and like I am living in a huge rustic farmhouse instead of a little two bedroom house in suburbia lol!

So you can imagine my delight when I recently received a stunning bouquet of spring flowers from the lovely Suttons Seeds to adorn my lounge and bring some much needed femininity to an otherwise fairly masculine looking lounge (that’s the problem when renting you can’t really put your own stamp on a property).  Now I might be having a blonde moment but I had no idea until my bouquet arrived that Suttons Seeds did fresh flowers by post, because I’d always associated them with packets of seeds for growing in the garden.  It seems though that they now offer a full range of seeds to grow your own gorgeous cut flowers meaning that you can bring colour to your house throughout the year using their pretty clever cut flower growing guide so you know what to plan when during the year.

Beautiful summer sandals from Holster

holster-jelly-sandals

I’ve been lucky of lately on the blog as I’ve had lots of beautiful shoes and clothing to review which has been perfect as we head towards those summer months and I head off on my holiday to Italy at the end of May.

danni-minogue-holster-sandals

The lovely people at Holster very kindly sent me some of the new Dannii Minogue for Holster jelly flats to take on my travels and I had been eagerly awaiting these since I  had been contacted by their PR team last year with behind the scenes video and imagery of this new range of Rockstar jewelled jelly sandals.

Five celebs you didn’t realise were still around … and who look great for it!

growing-older

Let’s fact it growing old isn’t something that we look forward to – well I am not, and I am already doing all I can to minimise the effects of getting older and greyer lol!  As you get older it can be extremely important to be seen to grow old gracefully – especially for good-looking celebs who are known for their attractiveness!

It may therefore surprise you to know that there are a multitude of celebrities growing only gracefully somewhere in the hills of Hollywood – many of which you may not have realised were still around at all. Here we look at some of the past stars of stage and screen who are still around today and looking great for it:
