Win a £50 Rockabye-Baby Gift Voucher

Rockabye-Baby clothing

Not a bit of pink or blue in sight, I have a great giveaway to win a £50 Rockabye-Baby gift voucher so that you can spruce up your little one’s wardrobe ready for summer!

This fantastic give-away is because Rockabye-Baby has been selected to showcase its clothes at House of Fraser’s POP at HOF – a pop-up at the flagship Oxford Street store. Following a competition organised by The Great Retail Revival Foundation, Rockabye-Baby was one of just ten small businesses selected from nearly 200 of the UK’s hottest new retailers in a sales event offering the winner a year’s concession at the store.

Super craft fun thanks to Viking Direct

A few weeks back Roo and I were invited by the team at Viking Direct to go wild and choose a selection of products from their craft activities range to have fun with and create mess.   Living in rented accommodation craft is even more scary so heaven knows why I agreed to this but it seemed a good idea at the time.  I miss our outdoor space and in hindsight wished we had an outside garden to have carried out part of our review in as my kitchen looked like a neon sahara by the time Roo had finished, but the mess aside a certain little monkey had a lot of fun with some amazing products.

Beautiful bedding at Dunelm

pretty-little-things

This weekend mum and I pootled off on a Mini adventure over to the new Dunelm store in Cannock.  I love Dunelm for their range and prices and a new store always has shiny items that you don’t see in the older stores as a way to tempt you to part with your hard earned cash.  Mind you bearing in mind my penchant for buying new homeware and the fact that I am about to move again it doesn’t take much to part me from my pennies these days.

As you probably saw in my post a few weeks back where I was shouting loudly about the gorgeous new Tesco Living home range and how I had decided to create a feminine, chic and pretty room for my new bedroom once I moved, I had purchased some bedding from Achica which sadly on arrival was far too mint and not duck egg enough for my colour scheme.  So I was back to the drawing board on bedding for my room and was also searching for something pretty for Roo’s room as she has decided she would like pretty with a few touches of Frozen built in to her theme (no pressure mum).

A weekend cider with a twist

kick-back-and-relax

How gorgeous has the weather been this weekend?  I for one have loved feeling the sun on my back and that ‘feel good vibe’ you get from being outside in beautiful weather.

Saturday I hit the gym, grabbed my laptop and then sat outside my local Costa Coffee sipping coffee and writing my post about my random act of kindness from Friday night.  To be working outside was absolute bliss and even at 6pm as I sat having a coffee the air was still warm and the breeze lapped around my bare legs with affection that was comforting and pleasurable.

Random Acts of Kindness

It’s funny but the sunshine the last few days visibly lifts the mood of people around you, for instance I am sitting outside now at my local Costa Coffee enjoying a lovely iced Americano and a goats cheese and beetroot sandwich and people are smiling, laughing, talking, sharing little jokes with strangers on tables.  The mood is pleasant, relaxed and the British population (of Lichfield) at least are clearly grateful for a good dose of Vitamin D.

It shouldn’t be a surprise though that the weather lifts peoples moods; it really isn’t rocket science to work that one out, after all getting a bit of sunshine and feeling good is the predominant reason why so many Brits flock to sunnier shores for their summer holidays each year.
