Tree Fu Tom Twitter Party

Last year I hosted a fantastic Jungle Junction Toy Party on twitter and not only did my house get taken over with some fantastic Jungle  Junction toys, but there were also lots of really cool prizes up for grabs for any of my followers who joined in and got into the spirit.

Tree Fu Tom Twitter PartyWell the good news is that on February 19th 2013 between 4pm and 6pm I will be hosting a Tree Fu Tom twitter party and yet again there are going to be prizes to win as well as lots of party games to get involved with.

It’s definitely a case in our house that Miss Roo is not your typical girly girl and loves watching TV shows that most boys like to watch such and so when Tree Fu Tom started on cBeebies last year she was instantly hooked.  After all who wouldn’t want to be Tom who disappears into the world of Tree Fu and gets to do cool kung fu style moves.  Secretly I admit to joining in with her when she has a go and it’s hilarious watching the two of us.

My Bag of Worries

Following on from my post about Roo battling with emotions earlier this week, this morning we were in bed cuddling as she’d got up early and she told me she had a bag of worries.  Unprompted Roo went on to say how that if she had something in her bag of worries then she was to find a grownup and tell them what it was and that grownup would help them.

Again for the second time this week I was touched by the deep thinking of my child.  I asked her what was in her bag of worries.  She replied ‘well mummy, I’m worried about burglars coming to our house and getting in and taking our pets.’

Do Something Special This Easter in Sussex

One of the greatest things about Britain’s coastline is that each mile of it offers visitors something a little different. Seaside towns may have sand, waves, candy floss, seagulls and fish and chips in common, but they still manage to stamp their own personality on these things and find ways to surprise anyone who visits them on holiday with something unique.

Easter is a great time of the year to visit any of the UK’s coastline, not only because, if recent years are anything to go by, the days are generally warm and bright, but because Spring is still freshly ‘sprung’, everything is new and exciting and this Easter, Haven are offering families some great discounts at several of their seaside resorts including the Combe Haven Holiday Park near Hastings in Sussex.

The Mummyfesto by Linda Green – Win A Copy!

I love a good book, and even though I have my Kindle and NookHD I still love the feel and smell of a new paperback book and so this morning when the postman bought me a parcel I opened it eagerly and was delighted to see a copy of the new book The Mummyfesto from author Linda Green.

The Mummyfesto is already being described as ‘smart, witty writing’ by Elle Magazine and ‘utterly riveting’ by closer.

Linda GreenSo what is The Mummyfesto about?

When Sam, Jackie and Anna successfully campaign to save their children’s school lollipop lady, a TV reporter asks them if they fancy standing in the general election.

Battling With Emotions

Sometimes I forget what things must seem like to Roo at four and a half, simply because I have forgotten what it was like to be that age.  The other day though she said something that really took me a back and made me realise how much at this age preschool children are battling with emotions and often can’t process everything that is going on.

I can’t remember what our little stand off had started over, something daft probably such as not getting undressed for bath as asked or it might have been a combination of general naughtiness throughout the day.  Whatever it was, I’d just had to tell Roo she was going to time out.  We’ve always used time out in our house, it works for us and Roo knows if she’s in her room she’s in trouble.  I carried her up the stairs and put her in her room and shut the gate.
