Sainsbury’s Halloween Costume Review

It’s funny but I’ve never been a massive fan of Halloween.  I got spooked as a kid, can’t watch scary movies and find the whole idea of dressing up and knocking on doors for sweets a bit of a contradiction in terms to everything we tell our kids not to do.  However, when you become a parent you kind of have to put your own insecurities aside and enter into the spirit of these commercial holidays for the sake of your kids.

This is the first year that Roo has shown an interest in Halloween and so when we were contacted by Sainsbury’s to review their Halloween costume range this year I thought I would give it a go.  Roo as you may know is somewhat obsessed with pirates.  For those of you who need a recap my brother has several tattoos, large sleeves of beautiful ink work.  He lives in London, previously by the River Thames and so Roo quickly thought he was a pirate and he’s been known as Pirate Edd since she was born.  So it came as no surprise when she opted to try out the pirate costume from the Sainsbury’s Halloween costume selection – which was pretty vast.

Don’t Move, Improve Your Home Instead

Daddy E and I had contemplated moving about 18 months ago and had tried to sell our house for about 8 months.  The market has been pretty stagnant around us and none of the properties in our price bracket of £230 – £250k were moving so we eventually took it off the market.  Fast forward to this year and again the subject of moving has come up, however we then watched the recent Sarah Beeny programme on Channel 4 where she convinced people they could double the size of their current house for half the money of moving to their dream property and this got us thinking.  Could we improve our home rather than move and actually end up with the living space we wanted.

Jumbo Connect 4 Game Review

The weather might have been iffy when we were offered the chance to review a Jumbo Connect 4 from Garden Games but this didn’t deter us from our plans to enjoy this oversized family favourite game.  Jumbo Connect 4 is one of four different Connect 4 games that Garden Games have on their website which specialises in outdoor games for the kids to use in the garden.

outdoor games for the garden for kidsJumbo 4 is made to the same design as the already popular Big 4 with the same smart colours, Jumbo 4 is a slightly more compact version of the game, standing 75cm high. The lower height makes it ideal for smaller children and allows the game to retail below £100. This version of the game also includes a smart nylon bag to store the counters.  The wooden frame is easy to put together in less than 5 minutes so no waiting around with the kids nagging you to hurry up and the handy counter storage bag means you can keep track of all the counters so no missing pieces.

The Benefits of Fitted Bedrooms

When you opt to whether you’re moving to a new home or looking to update your current household, there are countless reasons why people choose to redesign their bedrooms.

Bedrooms are far more than just the place we go to sleep every night; bedrooms are a place of relaxation, romance and contemplation. So, it’s understandable why people want to create the right atmosphere and environment that mirrors their unique taste and idea of comfort. However, not all of us have the interior design skills to create the style of bedroom that best suits us. While many of us might have a flair for choosing the odd item of furniture, for many of us it really is a case of knowing you have found the right bedroom once you step into it.
