Scooterearz Review

I was excited to recently receive this great new product from mums Elisa and Vickie. Between them they have seven children ranging from two to nine years old and so with this in mind I was keen to see if a product designed by mums, to deal with an age old problem of cold toddlers hands whilst out on their scooters worked.

The press release described Scooterearz as a brand-new product designed to keep childrens’ hands warm as they scoot. From toddlers to teenagers, children just love scooters. They are a fun way to exercise and a greeneralternative to taking the car on the school run. Scooterearz is a simple but brilliant idea and the first of its kind: a weatherproof hand warmer that attaches securely to the handlebars of any scooter. It’s just the thing for those chilly autumn and winter days. Scooterearz features a black weatherproof fabric with a fun fur lining that’s available in a choice of funky
colours. Suitable for ages 3-12, they are an easy way for children to accessorise their scooters and kids will love the chance to look cool while staying warm.

Kids Party SOS….

“Mum, I want a party.” Those were the words I heard when Addison got out the bath the other week. Now don’t think of me as a scrooge or a party pooper, it’s just on a good day I just about manage to clear up after Addison and keep the house tidy – the thought of 8 children running round my house with sticky fingers, ice cream and jelly all of which are going through potty training has filled me with utter dread.

However, I’ve thrown myself into the task with glee.  I have scoured party shelves in Sainsburys and Tesco’s for items for party bags; I have spent an evening of my life stuffing a pinata and in the process of this my husband has been introduced to the addictive world of the pound shop.

Get “crafty” with your kids…

Twitter is fab for meeting other mums who run their own businesses or have great ideas of things to do with your children. One such mum is Emma Collins (@docraftscc on twitter). Emma as well as being a mum to two gorgeous young daughters, finds time to run her own PR firm AND is manager of a fantastic online community called The Creativity Club.  I don’t know how she fits it all in!

Emma and I connected a few week ago and she told me about the club; “I am on a little mission (well big actually!) to get more parents to do modern day scrapbooking, make handmade cards and to stop looking at crafting as just child’s play. It’s THE perfect me time! (I scrapbooked some baby photographs of my eldest daughter last night and I found it very therapeutic and emotional).”

Being a parent is…

One of my closest friends is pregnant at the moment, I couldn’t be happier for her as I know this is something that means a lot to her.  She will be a fantastic mum and I cannot wait to see her little one next year.

It got me thinking thought about what being a parent is all about. Everyone has their own opinion about what being a parent is for them and how it changes their lives.  However, when I was pregnant back in 2007 I really had no idea whether I would be a good mum or what being a family was going to be like.
